Handmade ceramic vase using the Obvara technique in shades of black and white.

TECHNIQUE:
The first firing is carried out at a temperature between 850°C and 1000°C; the second, the Obvara firing, takes place after bringing the object to a temperature of approximately 920°- 960°C in a special oven.
At this point, the still-incandescent piece is removed from the oven with special tongs and immersed in a mixture of water, flour, yeast, and sugar that has been soaked for a few days. It is then cleaned of any signs of combustion to reveal the colors, ranging from red/orange to black. Finally, it is waxed with beeswax.
Each piece is therefore unique and unrepeatable.
Any small imperfections are evidence of this and contribute to its beauty and prestige.
